welcome to Gypsy Rising Yoga!
Whether you’ve done studio classes a million times or it’s your first time… you will be welcomed with a smile & open arms!
Be sure to arrive 10 - 15 minutes early so you can get a tour, be introduced to your instructor, gather any props and get settled :) We will start on time and lock the door once class starts to protect everyone’s belongings.
What do i bring?
You can never go wrong bringing a water bottle, yoga mat, and sweat towel for our heated classes.
No yoga mat? No problem! We have them for $2 rentals at the studio(supplies are limited).
We recommend a yoga mat for Barre as well.
what do i wear?
Wear what makes you feel good. For Yoga classes you are barefoot. Please place your shoes in the cubby at the front of the studio. For barre, you can be barefoot or we recommend grippy socks. No grippy socks? We sell them in our boutique.
We do recommend breathable clothing (leggings, flowy pants). No shorts for Barre.
what temperature is the room?
Power Yoga classes are HOT as well as a Barre Express on Wednesday morning. The temperature is set to 95 degrees and can rise to about 100 with a full class using a combination or Infrared Heat and forced air. The purpose:
Reduces stress and relaxes body
Your muscles are warm to begin which reduces injury and helps increase flexibility.
Increased oxygen which allows your body to send blood to your muscles more efficiently
Advice?
Your first class may feel more challenging as your body adjusts to the temperature and the movement. Take water breaks throughout class and keep showing up! You will be surprised how quickly you get used to a warm space and will love the increased flexibility + mobility..
Our Studio Etiquette: Disconnect to Reconnect
At Gypsy Rising Yoga, we believe in giving yourself the gift of presence. To help you fully enjoy your practice and create a peaceful space for everyone, here’s our phone and class etiquette:
Phones Off & Away: Please keep your phone turned off and tucked in your cubby with your belongings during class. This is your time to disconnect and focus on you.
Life Happens: If you need to keep your phone with you for any reason, please place it on Do Not Disturb mode.
Stay for Savasana: To preserve the flow and relaxation for everyone, we ask that you stay until class ends. If you must leave early, please let your instructor know in advance.
Taking Calls: Since we share one open space, kindly step outside if you need to make or take a call.
Thank you for helping us maintain a calm, supportive environment for all. Your practice—and your presence—matters!
